Statistix for Windows
This one-day course aims to give participants an understanding of how to perform statistical analyses using the software "Statistix for Windows".
Topics that will be covered in this course include:
- Statistix: Setting up Statistix, Data management, File management
- Summary statistics: Descriptive statistics, Breakdown, Percentiles, Cross tabulations, Histograms, Box-and-whisker plots, Scatter plots, Stem-and-leaf plots, Error Bar charts
- One-, two- and multi-sample tests
- Analysis of Variance and Covariance: Randomised blocks with single treatment factor, Factorial treatment structures, Checking Assumptions, Interpretation, Polynomial Contrasts, Analyses with Missing Values, Split-plot analysis, Analysis of Covariance
- Regression: Correlation, Multiple Linear Regression, Simple Linear Regression, Polynomial regression, VIF, Logistic Regression
- Association tests: Chi-square test, Contingency tables
- Statistics background: Hypothesis testing, p-values, Power, Assumptions for statistical tests, Data transformations, Back-transforming means, Randomisation, Degrees of freedom, Confidence Intervals, Standard Deviations, Standard Errors, and Variance, Derived variables, e.g. ratios
